Campos do Jordão



Known as the Brazilian Switzerland for it`s late architecture based on european constructions and by it`s climate, colder than the brazilian average. Located in the massive of Serra da Mantiqueira, one of the highest Mountain chains in Brasil, it`s also one of the highest cities in the country, with some places around the city located at 2000 meters high.

The climate is the altitude tropical, compared to the alpine region of Platz in Switzerland and it has been considered the best in the world in a climatology congress in Paris back in the 50`s. Walk around the city means to have the opportunity and the previlege to breath one of the cleanest air in the planet.

With a large number of attractions, the city is perfect for a day trip or even for a weekend break. Among the mains attractions are:

Boa Vista Palace, which is the oficial winter residence of São Paulo`s governor;



São João Monastery or Monastery of Benedictines, ideal for those looking for peace;

Baden Baden Brewery, where you have a guided visit around the fabric;



Cláudio Santoro Auditorium, that hosts the Winter Festival of Campos do Jordão;

Felícia Leirner Museum, an open air museum with 100 sculptures made of plaster, bronce and iron in the garden of the auditorium. It`s one of the few brazilian museums dedicated just to one artist;



The cable car, that was the first one to be build in Brazil, in 1972. It`s one of the most traditional attractions in the city and it takes the turists to the Elephant Hill (Morro do Elefante);

Ducha da Prata, a set of water falls with wood plataforms that allow the turists to get to the other side;

Capivari village, with it`s shops, restaurants and coffee shops in Swiss style for the turists delight;



A ride by the railway of Campos do Jordão, with a stop the the Lajeado Valley, considered the highest railway point in Brazil;

Pedra do Baú, it`s located in the city of São Bento do Sapucaí, but with better access through Campos, perfect for the climbing lovers among other attractions
