Obelisk Mausoleum to the Heroes of 32, also known as Ibirapuera`s Obelisk or Obelisk of São Paulo, is a tomb located at the Ibirapuera Park.



Symboll of the Constitutionalist Revolution in 1932, the obelisk is the biggest monument in the city with 72 meters high. The construction started in 1947, was opened in 9 of july 1955, a year after Ibirapuera`s Park opening, but just concluded in 1970.



The obelisk is a projesct of the italian-brazilian sculptor Galileo Ugo Emendabili and it`s construction by the german engineer Ulrich Edler, who lived in Brazil. Listed heritage building by the city and state council of Historical Heritage Preservation, the mausoleum keep the bodies of the students dead during the revolution in 1932 and 713 former combatants.



To honor and preserve the memory of the uprising, there are biblical scenes and historical passages of São Paulo made of venetian mosaic tablets.
